Travel Notes

AIR

We have designated Continental Airlines as the official airline for our event. Discounts will apply to the five New York area airports: Newark, John F. Kennedy, La Guardia, Westchester County, and Islip, Long Island (listed in order of convenience to Manhattan). For reservations, please call your travel agent or Continental's Meeting Works at 800-468-7022. Advise them to provide the Reservations Agent with our Meeting Reference number: M2STGT. To receive discounts, the Continental Z Code: ZBFC must appear on the ticket in the Tour Code Box, Ticket Designator Box, and in the Fare Calculation Ladder.

Provided below are your options on how to get from and to the three major airports. The "Across from Grand Central Station" information will deliver you to within 1000 feet of the hotel. At this point it's either a short walk or a short cab ride if you have a great deal of luggage. In virtually no case, however, should you rent an automobile at the airport. It will be of no use in Manhattan, as well as a considerable overhead expense for parking.

RAIL

Those coming to New York City from the near South or the near West (e.g., Washington D.C. or Pittsburgh) may wish to consider Amtrak as a travel possibility. Frequent service is provided to Penn Station, which is a short taxi ride to the hotel. Those coming from New England will also arrive at Penn Station on Amtrak. However, there are several commuter lines from Connecticut and the Hudson Valley that use Grand Central Terminal, which is most convenient to the hotel.

IN THE CITY

Most of your in-city travel will be by subway, bus, or walking. For the subways and buses, all you need is a Metro Card Fun Pass. The Fun Pass allows unlimited rides on all the New York City Transit local subways and buses for just $4.00 a day. For those spending more time in NYC, the 7-Day Unlimited Ride card for $17.00 is available. You can buy them at one of thousands of authorized merchants and the New York Transit Museum Gallery and Store at Green Central Terminal. For walking, the following area map provides coverage of about one mile radius from the hotel.
