The meeting location is in the classic and historic Roosevelt Hotel, which has recently undergone a $65 million renovation, and which is situated at 45th Street and Madison Avenue. This is midtown Manhattan's absolutely best neighborhood just a few steps from fashionable 5th Avenue and across the street from the completely restored Grand Central Terminal. Truly a New York City experience! A block of rooms has been reserved for participants at a special rate of $198 per night (the Federal and State reimbursement rate) for both single and double accommodations. The room rate and availability are guaranteed up to June 27, 2000, so please make your reservations as soon as possible and be sure to mention that you are attending the TRB Summer Meeting of A1F04. For reservations, please call (212) 661-9600 or 1-888-TEDDY-NY (1-888-833-3969), or on the web at http://www.theroosevelthotel.com.

Please complete and return the registration form, sign-up sheet, and fee schedule by July 3, 2000 to help us ensure that meeting functions and amenities are adequately planned. Technical, social, and guest programs are scheduled to make your time in New York as exciting and complete as possible.

We look forward to your visit to New York and encourage you to consider the almost too many activities and attractions that are available. We will endeavor to customize your experience once we get to know you by providing tips and suggestions. If you have any special interests, please indicate them to us with your registration form, and we will get working on them.

As the meeting chairman, I apologize for the delay in this material getting to you. After seeing it, I'm sure that you will make a special effort to attend. As always, please feel free to contact me for any additional information, clarification, questions, or the like, and "Welcome to New York!"
