CALL FOR PRESENTATIONS!
The 2000 TRB A1F04 Committee's Summer Meeting, July 17 - 20, 2000, in New York City, NY, will focus on current topics in transportation related noise and vibration. We hope to strike a balance between rail/transit, aircraft, and highway noise and vibration presentations. We are planning to allot 30 minutes for each presentation, ideally 20 minutes for the presentation itself and 10 minutes for speaker introduction and questions. If you need more or less time, we'd like to know about this at the time you submit your abstract (see below timeline); we may be able to tailor some time slots to individual needs for efficiency. Otherwise, we'll assume you need the 30 minutes. In the interest of fairness to all speakers, a strict time schedule will be followed.

Timeline and Submissions
Please submit titles of presentations, presenter's name, address, phone number, and an abstract, as soon as possible. All presentation abstracts submitted before the June 10, 2000 deadline will be considered.
Abstracts, or a short summary, audio-visual needs, and special time needs, if applicable (see above), should be submitted no later than June 10, 2000.
Audio-visual aids (e.g. view graphs, slides, etc.) used during the presentation should be brief, concise, and legible to the entire audience. As a "rule of thumb," the audience should be able to digest the information contained in each slide in 30 seconds.

To all presenters:
I understand that this is a little late, but we still plan on having a summer meeting up to A1F04's usual standards. Please get a hold of me if you have any additional questions.
